Lots of Nice Pics; Lean on the Meat n' Potatoes

It's an ok book for railfans or kids who are generally less interested in the technical and mechanical aspects and just simply want to learn more about GEVOs. However, I spent several years in locomotive maintenance/repair at a Class I railroad and there are many statements that provide a glossed over explanation (re: how the engineer "tells" Locotrol to either go in to CTE or FTE; there is a little more to it than an engineer simply speaking to a Harris Box) or are just plain wrong (re: instrumentation in the GE test cars; nowadays loco monitoring is performed with a laptop in the cab. The test car merely provides a place for the GE Reps to sleep/rest, watch TV or snack on Tombstone Pizzas).

Nice book. I bought this used and it was in fantastic condition. None of the pages where bent, torn etc and the slip cover was the same. The book is very thorough and covers more variants of this train than I knew. Very well laid out. The pictures are just incredible. IF you collect the GE 'GEVO' locomotives this is a great book to have as a reference guide.

Good book with few specifications.

This book's content is exactly what as was expecting: good description, very nice pictures and few data about the GEVO locomotive actually. I recommend the inclusion of more technical data in newer editions.
